For all the brides out there looking for a great long lasting lipstick for their wedding day, I wanted to share with you an amazing lipgloss and lipstick in one - I just purchased 2 and I'm in love so I thought I would share. I am not affiliated with OCC in any way and this is not a typical blog entry for me since I always talk about flowers. However since I am in the wedding industry and I have a passion for doing makeup as well as floral design, I thought I would share.
The lip tars from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) are AMAZING and long lasting. These lip tars come in a variety of colours and are made to be mixed together so you can create your custom colour. I think they have 40 colours to choose from. They are 100% vegan and 100% cruelty free which is great. I refuse to buy make up which doesn't state on their labels that is cruelty-free and/or "not tested on animals" even if it's a great colour or it got good reviews.
One thing I would like to mention about the lip tars is that they are EXTREMELY pigmented and you only need the size of a tear drop maybe less to get an amazing vivid colour. Start with a small amount and built up the colour to the intensity you want. When you first put them on your lips you will have an "oh my god what the hell is this" reaction but don't be alarmed - apply it with the brush that comes with it and rub your lips together as you do when you apply lipstick....the colour will blend beautifully. And don't use your fingers because it will STAIN, but if you want to use your finger to blend the colour (I do sometimes) make sure you have some make up removing wipes nearby because you are gonna need them.
So far I purchased the lip tars in 2 colours - Memento and Strumpet.
Memento is a beautiful neutral pink - it reminds me of Prrr from MAC but without the sparkly glossiness.
Strumpet is a beautiful deep wine fuschia colour - it does get darker as you build it. I put one coat on and it's a beautiful bright berry colour, as you build it up it turns into a beautiful wine colour but more fushia than red.
They are long lasting and won't dry your lips as much - they do have peppermint and hemp oil in them apparently so they actually moisturize. If you are looking for a glossy and supershiny lipstick/lipgloss this is not the one for you. They are not completely matte colours and they do have a little bit of sheen to it but you can apply a clear lip tar on top to make it super shiny. They don't feather or bleed and they will last a loooong time.
I will definately buy more shades.

BIG NEWS!!! WEDDING DRESSES ARE HERE!!
I love fashion especially couture wedding dresses. My goal is to have an "all-in-one" kinda store where I am directly involved in floral design and wedding dress design and sales.
I am happy to announce that I am one step closer to achieving that dream. I will use my fashion background in design (I studied fashion design at London College of Fashion in London, UK) and I will hand pick the styles of wedding dresses I think my clients would like and see how it goes.
The dresses will be custom made according to your measurements - my manufacturers in Asia can make the dresses in any size, plus sizes too.
Here is a sneak peak of one of the dresses I picked to showcase and sell.

Red rose wedding
It's been a while since I posted - the twins are keeping me super busy :)
I want to share some pics from my friend Sandra's wedding which took place this past September at Ancaster Mill. I have never been to the Ancaster Mill and I didn't know what to expect but I was blown away when I got there. This is such a gorgeous and private venue. I can't stop thinking about it and the lush and green surroundings. They even have a water fall. Loooove this place.
The photographs were taken by Steven Elms at Elms Photography www.elmsphotography.com
We used red rose balls to line the aisle.
The bride looked gorgeous. Sandra always knew she wanted red roses for her bouquet. We went shopping for flowers and to choose the perfect shade of red. Sandra liked Freedom roses which are a beautiful and rich shade of red.
The bridesmaids carried bouquets of beautiful Mondial roses - don't be fooled by these gorgeous gorgeous roses. They are amazing and long lasting. When you open the package they look light green but after the outer petals are discarded, they open up to be this delicious creamy white - just beautiful.
Sandra is a very traditional bride and wanted something classic, traditional and elegant. It was a bit of challenge to find the right shades of white, light green and roses without making it look Christmasy but I think the end result was gorgeous. I used lush premium white hydrangeas, the same red roses I used in Sandra's bouquet and the creamy white roses I used in the bridesmaids' bouquets. For a touch of classic and traditional I used white baby's breath (classic and traditional when combined with roses)

Break
Since I am on mat leave until July 2012, I will not be updating my blog regularly.
Whenever I have some free time I will update my blog with any new products coming out or new designs.
Raising twin babies is not easy

Real or Fake?
The dilemma a lot of brides face is real or faux flowers? It’s not an easy choice anymore considering that fake flowers have come a LOOOOONG way since the 1980s.
I will briefly discuss the pros and cons of faux flowers.
High quality silk flowers are available through a wholesaler and can be pricey, and most of the time they cost almost the same or more than real flowers. The lower quality silks like the ones you would find at a Dollar store or crafts store are more budget friendly however the quality is very poor. Silks are fragile, not durable and not waterproof. They fade fairly quick when exposed to sunlight and do not maintain their shape if crushed.
Floramatique flowers are the highest quality faux flowers you can get. They are made of a polymer blend material, they are incredibly realistic and very durable. They are lightweight for easy transport, crush proof and waterproof. The colours do not fade when exposed to sunlight. Their best features is that they LOOK AND FEEL real. Hence their marketing name “real touch flowers”.
Floramatique flowers are perfect for brides who are allergic to real flowers and for brides having a destination wedding in the Caribbean or another country.
The most popular choices are orchids, calla lilies, roses, spider mums, dahlias, water lilies and peonies.
Floramatique flowers cost more than silk flowers but keep in mind you are paying for quality and for something that will last forever. Brides prefer having a Floramatique bouquet because they can keep it forever.
TIP: If you prefer fresh flowers, have a Floramatique copy of your bouquet that way you can keep it forever.
